With the Christmas proposal season approaching, many men are visiting our store or consulting online to choose a ring. However, they all say that they panicked because they didn't know about some things. For men who are thinking about proposing, here are some things you should know to avoid making a mistake when choosing a ring.
1. Delivery time
2. Design and price constraints
1. Delivery time
With the exception of some luxury brands, production of engagement rings often begins only after an order is received.
This is because when dealing with something as expensive as diamonds, holding inventory incurs costs.
For example, if you purchase a simple 1.0 carat diamond ring with a single diamond like the one pictured here at our store, the price range as of today would be as follows:
Natural diamonds: from 1,000,000 yen
Lab-grown diamonds: from 450,000 yen
Holding a large number of these expensive items in stock increases the risk of them remaining unsold, and in addition to the brand fee, the cost of the inventory also becomes a burden. The reason why luxury brand engagement rings are expensive is because of these costs in addition to the brand value.
That's why luxury brand stores sell single diamond solitaire rings like the one in the image above for twice as much as we do, and in some cases even more.
At DIALLURE, we do not keep inventory and work on made-to-order production, which means we can keep prices down but require delivery times of 6 to 8 weeks .
Men who plan to propose at Christmas tend to start looking for a ring as winter approaches, and in some cases around November. This schedule is very tight. If you start looking 3-4 months before the proposal date , you will be able to choose smoothly.
However, for men who have accidentally ended up in the fall, we recommend that you make an appointment for an online consultation or in-store visit as soon as possible.
2. Design and price constraints
Nowadays, men often find out about their partner's ring preferences through friends or casually through their girlfriends. This is very useful information when searching for a ring that your partner will like.
However, when you start looking for a ring, you may find it difficult to find the perfect design.
In particular, photos published in magazines and on Instagram often feature large diamonds.
On the other hand, the average diamond size selection in Japan is said to be 0.3 carats, which is a little small to fully appreciate the brilliance and presence of diamonds.
In fact, in a survey we conducted of 100 brides, 80% of them wanted a diamond ring of 0.5 carats or more .
Luxury brands have many diamonds that are over 0.5 carats and have beautiful designs, but then there is the issue of price, as mentioned above.
DIALLURE works with an American atelier to create a lineup of designs that bring brides closer to their ideals. There are also over 3,000 customization options available.
The products listed on the website are only a small part of what we have. If you are having trouble choosing a ring, please apply for an online consultation or make an appointment to visit our store.
By the way, we would like to add that the success rate of proposals among our clients is 100% (as of November 2023).
